For clarity and to take up less "real estate" on worksheets, try the number formats below to display your values by thousands, millions or billions:

To apply number formats:

  1. Select the cell(s) that contains the values

  2. Open the Format Cells dialog box > Number tab > Custom category

  3. Delete the format displayed in the Type: box and type one of the formats above (the Sample box will display a preview of the result)

Note: Excel will round up or down as necessary.
