Cut Down on Saved Messages

By Deborah J. Sparks

In Outlook 2007 and 2010, you can easily pick and choose which emails are saved in the Sent Items folder.

Why save a copy of a quick reply like "Thanks", especially if it takes up room on your server and adds to your message clean-up time?

Here's how:

  1. Create a new email.
  2. Click the Options tab and then click the Save Sent Item button to see the Do Not Save option.
  3. Add the Save Sent Item to your Quick Access Toolbar by right-clicking the button and selecting Add to Quick Access Toolbar.
  4. Before sending your email, simply click the Save Sent Item button on your QA toolbar and choose Do Not Save.
